In the world, mostly the United states, immigrants that go to schools have policies that they have to follow or do for certain things. These policies also cause a certain fear or make them worry because they never know what will happen. This makes them do worse in school and it will decline their grade in general because they can’t focus on their academic studies instead of the immigration policies. Parents also fear deportation so they take their children out of school. Which leads to that child being unenrolled at that school. Then that child would never get the proper education that he or she needed. In 1982, the supreme court said that immigration status did not matter for the children to get public education but because of Trump’s aggressive immigration enforcement, so the policy in today’s world is different. Some students that were classmates with immigrants witnessed ICE raids during school and said it was heartbreaking. Some teachers have tried to keep a close relationship with immigrants so they can help them with the hard times they are going through. People also skipping school are immigrants because their parents are making them and are also decreasing the school funds. Recent state and federal immigration policies make people stressed which lead to anxiety and depression which could also come from people bullying from them being immigrants. Some schools are instructed to act differently towards immigrants because of some of the policies. Which also puts more work onto the teacher to act differently towards them. It also increases stress towards teachers because they try to help the students but can’t because they are powerless when it comes to the law or the policies. Some schools often have some classes that help immigrants with their stress, anxiety, and depression. These often are free towards the immigrants but some cost extra because of the state policies. It also doesn’t help that president Trump has increased immigration policies. This heavily impacts immigrant families, which includes millions of people. When a student attends school because they are scared or they aren’t being allowed to, it decreases the funds of the school and also decreases the funds that the state gets from the school. At least 30 states are student based schools that run off the students’ funds when they enroll and that leads to a big decrease when immigrants skip school or don’t go in general. That is at least 60 percent of the United States that is funded out of the students’ enrollment money. So if kids stop going to school because of policies, the school stops getting money. And when the school stops getting money, the state stops getting money from the school. Then the state can’t get the resources it needs for the country. So the entire nation entirely gets less money because of immigration policies. Not only is it a big problem for the country the immigrants fled to, it’s also a big problem for the country the immigrants came from. Because the country that they came from is losing tax dollars that comes from the people that left and it really ruins both of the countries in general. But it mainly depends on the country’s immigration policies. Overall, immigration policies really don’t help the people that are trying to change their life around and it makes them depressed, stressed, and anxious. It also leads to that person not getting the nutrients they need for their body because of their depression.
