They ended up being faced with first-degree murder, illegal carrying of weapons, and property damage. But after they were arrested and everything was inspected nobody was hurt after the shooting. On May 29, 2025 the Covington PD arrested five people for online child-explotation. One of the people who were a part of it was 40 years of age and he was charged with computer-aided solicitation of a minor. On August 19, 2025 15 agencies were launched to combat child predators on the north shore. They did this because there has been a major growth of 1,200% in such crimes in Louisiana according to wafb.com. Convington has created multiple associations to bring communities together, for example the Covington Neighborhood Collaboration. They are a non-profit, umbrella organization composed of representatives from Covington’s many diverse neighborhoods. They work to enrich the life of our citizens by providing a forum for sharing ideas, supporting neighborhood events and activities, offering organizational assistance to neighborhood leaders, mentoring the development of neighborhood associations, and representing the community. The Center for Great Neighborhood of Covington is another community organization that tries to bring the Covington community together. By their goal being to help residents with everything they can to make the neighborhoods a better place. They also believe in resident leadership and doing the right things is the core of a good and healthy neighborhood. Not only that, the Covington police department helps with community involvement. They help teach younger kids about what the right and wrong thing is to do at a young age. Which helps bring the community together in Covington.
