After the covid 19 pandemic, education priorities consist of recovering the academic loss of students, and supporting the mental and physical health of both teachers, and children. Education as a whole has changed dramatically since the pandemic in 2020, due to the loss of education. Some of the ways that schools have shifted are the digital aspects of school, and or education. Since students weren’t able to be in contact with teachers, the digital aspects of education have now taken over. Almost all students have or need a device of some sort. Before the pandemic, many schools were easing into the use of technology in their classrooms and schools all around. Because of the pandemic students were forced to fully shift into the digital world of education. And many schools around the country have stuck with the technology because it helps in ways the teachers can’t. According to a survey teachers say that around 70% of students still have a device that they use for their school work. The devices help with accessing educational content, and enabling communication between teachers, students, and parents.Â
Some of the Education priorities in 2025 are replacing the staff shortage in schools. As of 2024 , the U.S. had roughly 300,000 vacant teaching and support positions. Due to this this is one of the top educational issues. The support staff losses are even worse, bus drivers, cafeteria workers, and custodians, the people who keep schools running. High poverty areas where the money income is lower than average have an even harder time finding staff to work and maintain the school. Due to inflation teachers salaries haven’t kept up with cost of living, many educators work second jobs. This reason causes many teachers and educators to leave and not want to work in the schools.
Education has shifted due to anxiety, depression, and behavioral outbursts. People were isolated and locked away from others and society. Because of the lockdown people were separated from their families, and social events. The academic stress caused people to panic and left people confused. Students were forced to adopt the new technology and many didn’t know what to do. Because of this, grades dropped and confusion swarmed in. Teachers were as well affected through the anxiety and stress schools had on them. Schools could no longer help teachers as much as they did before. Teachers had to deal with technology regardless of their education and ability to work with the new technology. Teachers were now not engaged with their students as much so this caused another drop in grades. Students and teachers were exposed to having difficulties with technology because that was the only way for them to engage and communicate with each other. This caused learning gaps in the students’ education. If a student’s computer was not working and they missed a lesson it was difficult for them to recover from that and find time to recover the lost information.
