Spencer Rattler earned the first preseason start against the Chargers on August 10, 2025. He threw for 53 yards on eleven pass attempts. Tyler Shough, the 25-year-old rookie, came into the game and finished with 165 passing yards, 1 passing touchdown, and an interception that resulted in a pick-six. The Saints’ defense could not stop Trey Lance’s run game. The quarterback rushed for 7 attempts and 48 yards and a touchdown. The Saints ultimately ended up losing this game 13-27. The Saints look to bounce back next Sunday, August 17th, 2025, against the Jaguars at home.
