The 24- 25 season at Northlake Christian School was very successful for many sports. Starting with the fall of 24-25 the sports Volleyball, Football, Cheer, Dance, and Swim all met some great accomplishments. The 24-25 NCS Volleyball team not only won district but also won state championships. The previous year they broke a curse and made it to the State finals and also won there too. With a graduating class of 5, they plan to do it again the following year. During the fall season of football, these wolverines fought hard all season. They were given the title district champs and made it to the second round of playoffs. Gavin Hunter was named MVP of this season.
With the 24-25 Cheer team this year these Lady Wolverettes competed in many camps and created an impact on other teams. The ladys were named most improved, tradition starters, and 2nd and 3rd at regionals. Following these major accomplishments the wolverettes completed and earned themselves a bid to nationals. In the fall we also have the dance team filled with energetic, talented souls. The dance team competed in many competitions and earned major awards. When they went to American Allstar Nationals they won First in Hip Hop, Second in Gameday, and Second in Jazz. These Wolverettes came back with many trophies acknowledging their achievements.
The swim team, both boys and girls, made a name for themselves in the state tournament. Everyone on the team went to state and 6 of them were given the opportunity to compete individually. On top of that 3 placed in the top 12 in the state, and those 3 were selected for the all star state swim team.
During the Winter sports season for the 24-25 school year, we have the Soccer team, Band, Basketball team.
The soccer team from this year for the boys where they won district for the first time in 8 years, state semifinalist, and they only lost 2 games the whole season. For the girls they were quarterfinalists and they only lost 3 games overall all season.
During the 24-25 season for basketball, they made it to the first round of playoffs and were able to host the home game. For the girls they made it to the third round playoffs and fought a long and hard season.
Entering the spring of 24-25 sports we have softball, golf, track, powerlifting, baseball and tennis.
For the Softball team for the 24-25, they made it to the third round of playoffs.
For the baseball team they made it to the first round of playoffs and competed hard every game to get there.
The golf accomplishments for the 24-25 spring season were that Josh Wilson, Cooper McGehee, Gage Ulmer, Eli Yarborough and all made district team. Eli made it to regionals and placed fourth in district.
Track had a great season with Xander Slinkard making it to state in many running events. State meet was during graduation which Xander chose to go to State meet. During the Spring Banquet there was a special ceremony that took place during the banquet and Xander officially graduated. It was a sweet end to the banquet and Xander’s amazing time at Northlake.
Finally, the powerlifting team at NCS is taking lifting to another level. Girls received runner up at Regionals. NCS girls also won State Championships! Way to go NCS Powerlifting!
Northlake Christian had a wonderful year of athletics and we can’t wait to see what they do next year.
