With the release of Paulson Adebo, I would imagine the Saints draft cornerback, Will Johnson out of Michigan. The six-foot-two junior only allowed 128 yards across the games he has played. Johnson did battle a shoulder and a toe problem during the season that limited his play. Scouts are concerned about Johnson’s inconsistency as a run-support player and question his deep speed. Scouts viewed him as someone who was not aggressive in attacking ball-carriers and was run over multiple times. I believe the Saints draft Johnson despite these concerns as we are lacking in the cornerback room. Our current cornerbacks are, Kool-Aid McKinstry, Alontae Taylor, Ugo Amadi, and others. The addition of Johnson would strongly improve the Saints’ pass coverage.
