          This morning Kyodo news reported that Japan found 7,000 new islands. The number of islands in Japan is expected to be more than double after the recount of islands. The new island was found by the Geospatial Information Authority. The agency used advanced technology to conduct the recount of the islands. The number went from 6,852 islands in the year 1987 to 14,125 today. The newly mapped islands are said to be 330 feet in circumference. The outlet said that this could change in educational materials.
