Junior/Senior Retreat was on August 22-23, and from the moment people arrived, everyone was anticipating the worship service that night. Throughout the day, people kept talking about how excited they were for the service. It wasn’t just a scheduled event that everyone wasn’t dreading to go to, everyone was excited and yearning for it. It was like everyone knew that something amazing was going to happen. Before the sermon, worship was amazing. People’s hands were in the air, tears were streaming down, and voices were singing until their voices were gone. The worship was raw and true.
When the service came, everyone was hungry for the presence of the Holy Spirit. Tom Beale gave a powerful sermon about how to bear fruit. After his sermon, he allowed us to break into groups or individually to pray. The Holy Spirit was evidently in the room, using students to pray over others or just worshipping God. There were students who were barely friends or students that were fighting, that prayed over each other. No teacher dared to interfere with the God-moving moment.
