As the class of 2026 begins their final year, I interviewed five senior high students whose answers all varied. I asked questions regarding how the seniors feel about their last year of high school, what they’re excited for, if they’re happy or sad it’s almost over, which teacher or staff member they’ll remember most, what school traditions they’ll miss, and what activities or clubs meant the most to them. I interviewed students: Macy Lou, Grace Sims, Nerriyah Berry, Madison Bono, and Allie Kitterlin.
- Ava Dale:What do you look forward most to throughout this school year?
Macy Lou: Throughout this school year, I look forward most to getting closer to everyone in the grade and having a good last year together.
Grace Sims: I am looking forward to Football season and making memories with the Senior class. I am also looking forward to the dance teams nationals.
Nerriyah Berry: The thing I look forward to most this year would definitely be the work that God is doing in all of our lives. I believe in a revival and having faith that he is gonna do something great in all of our lives.
Madison Bono: I am most looking forward to seeing all my peers growing closer to God throughout the year.
Allie Kitterlin: I’m looking forward to Friday night lights.
- Ava Dale: Are you more sad that this is your last high school year or more happy it’s almost over, why?
Macy Lou: I am in between both happy and sad, I like being around my friends, but school is a lot sometimes.
Grace Sims: I am happy that it is almost over because I am ready to live on my own and see what is in store for me but I am sad that I have to leave high school and start fresh with people.
Nerriyah Berry: I would say I’m definitely more happy, I’m excited to see the plan that the future holds and to start adulthood.
Madison Bono: I have mixed feelings about senior year. I am sad about leaving my friends and growing up, but I am happy that I can start navigating the world on my own following God’s call without all the stress of school.
Allie Kitterlin: I’m more happy that it’s almost over because I’m just ready to go and pursue my career.

Macy Lou: I will miss Mrs. Neyland or Mr. Wear, both at first we got off on the wrong foot, but I love both of them as teachers now.
Grace Sims: I think that Mrs. Priest has made my high school time the most memorable because I connected with her the most and she is an easy person to talk to.
