Journalism students were asked what they thought about junior year, and more than half of the class said this year was by far the hardest year of high school so far. We are all so excited for our turn to be Seniors, yet are dreading the day when we leave this place. Reflecting on this past year, our athletics were great. Our volleyball team won state and are 2x back-to-back state champs. Football won district but is looking to bounce back this year and further into the playoffs. Track is having an outstanding season with multiple record breakers. This year has been a year where the junior class has gotten closer than ever. From prep night to ring ceremony, the class has done nothing but continue to grow spiritually and academically. The junior class had a wonderful retreat, going to the new bowling alley and finishing the night with worship, the following day at Hunts Branch Lake, where we spent the day playing and worshipping and even writing encouragement letters to one another. The spiritual growth within this class is something I have never seen before. I can say so myself because I have never been so close to the Lord in my life. Having wonderful students and friends around me encourages me to grow and want to be more like Christ. I could not have asked for a better class to spend my senior year with, truly. The ring ceremony was a bittersweet experience because most of us have been here since kindergarten with each other, and now seeing each other walk across the stage, receiving a ring as we step into the next chapter of our lives was awesome. I can confidently say that wherever each person chooses to go to college or wherever they desire, that they will make a direct impact on whomever they come in contact with.
