Over the past years Tik Tok has become one of the most used social media platforms. On January 17, 2025 the Government issued a temporary ban on the app due to the potential risks and benefits. Rumors advocate that the user data was being accessed by the Chinese government and could be harmful to citizens of the U.S. For the duration of its ban, users and creators argue that Tik Tok is used for a good cause such as content making, free expression, and some even make money using it. Many of these content creators make a living off of TikTok and rely heavily on this income. Social media has become a substantial part of how many people live, express themselves, and earn a living. Finding a middle ground is necessary regarding the involvement of social media making sure that it is both entertaining and safe.
