Zion Williamson was suspended for one game for a violation of team policies, the team said Friday, January 10, 2025. Zion was late for Thursday’s team flight to Philadelphia on January 9th ahead of a game Friday night against the 76ers. “There were several occasions that led up to this, and that’s how we got to this decision,” Head Coach Willie Green said. According to GM, David Griffin this isn’t the first time he has done this, and disrespected team standards. Williamson came out with a statement after the news of his suspension came out saying how he apologizes for his impact he has had on the team with being late to team events. Zion has missed 27 games already because of a left hamstring strain before returning Tuesday night, and scoring 22 points in a little less than 28 minutes in a 104-97 loss to the Minnesota timberwolves
