Hurricane Milton will go down in history as one of the worst hurricanes in Florida history. Milton was a category 5 with 185 mph winds in the Gulf of Mexico. Thankfully, he weakened upon landfall to a category 3 with 110 mph winds. Hurricane Milton knocked out over 2 million people’s power, and some remain without it. The death toll is at 16 and rising, and millions of people still have not made it home to access the damage. A 14-year-old boy was found hanging on a piece of fence in floodwaters. Another man was stranded in the Gulf on an ice chest and was found several hours later by a search rescue team. More than 50 thousand linemen are in Florida restoring power.
