The Menendez brothers, Lyle and Erik, were arguably sentenced to life without parole in 1996. For those of you who don’t know, these two brothers killed their parents, however, believed to be self defense. They were sexually assaulted by both parents, raped by the father, and physically and mentally abused their entire lives up to the moment they murdered their parents. After the show, “Monsters,” came out on Netflix around a week ago, there has been speculation of a new trial taking place on or around November 29, 2024. The show brought to light issues that were not represented in court as well as with the documentary. Accusations have been declared which have provided people with new evidence and opinions that they did not have during previous trials. Social Media has people stalking the case of the Menendez brothers and some have even put out petitions to get them out of prison.
