The LSU Tiger Girls Dance Team is the official dance team of LSU Athletics. They are coached by Head Coach Kandace Hale, Assistant Coach Londyn Daniel, and Director of Spirit Operations Mattie Winfield. The Tiger Girls support various events and games at LSU, performing and promoting at home football games, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, baseball, gymnastics, and other LSU events.
During the game day season, the team practices 10-12 hours a week and up to 15 hours a week during the national competition season. To maintain their health and fitness, the Tiger Girls work out with a personal trainer three times a week before practice.
For the past 24 years, the Tiger Girls have competed at the UDA Nationals in Orlando, Florida, at ESPN. They compete in D1A Jazz and D1A Hip Hop categories and have consistently placed in the top 10 since 2005. Between 2010 and 2024, they have won several national titles, with their most recent national title coming this past year (2024), marking a significant achievement for the team. Over the past two years, they have also earned titles, including a 3rd place in jazz.
Choreographers for nationals vary each year, but Sammy McFadden and Carson Rowe have regularly contributed, both having won two national titles with the Tiger Girls. In summary, the LSU Tiger Girls are iconic, classy, athletic, and a formidable presence, especially at nationals.
