Between November 9-12 the LHSAA volleyball State Championship will be taking place in the Cajun Dome. Our very own Northlake Christian Wolverines have punched their ticket into state play. The Wolverines will play our biggest rivals in game 1 against Pope John Paul. These two teams have beaten each other at their own gyms. The volleyball team has history with state, but always falling short in the first round. The Wolverines have lost in the first round 6 years in a row. Northlake’s senior captain Abigail Drury plans going on to the second round to play John Curtis who they swept in the regular season. Our best hitter “Bigge Bailey” who has broken the kill record this season as a Junior will continue to be the powerhouse that she has been the whole season for the Wolverines. The Wolverines have a great chance this year at bringing home Northlakes first ever State Championship. This game is personal, Abigail said due to the fact that they lost to Pope last year in the first round, who went all the way, but lost to Newman in the finals. Come join us tomorrow in the Cajun Dome to support your Northlake Christian Wolverines.
