Friday night lights are back, the season everyone has been waiting for is here. Northlake Christian School’s first football game is this Friday September 1st, against Country Day at Country Day. Our first home game is Friday, September 8th against Albany. The theme for this game is neon. All games start at 7pm, students get in free and $5 for parents. Come out and support our Wolverines! The football team has been preparing since spring of last year and has been working in the off season lifting and training. Although we have lost 12 seniors that were a big impact to our team, we have come back stronger and mentally sound, going into this season. After winning district last year we have a name to defend and with that we have added some new players and new coaches to our team, including coach Woods and coach JD as OL coaches, coach Bond as DB coach. We are stacked with talent on both sides of the ball, with this we have new things that other teams haven’t even seen before. Our ability to move so many people around on offense and defense is such a strength to our team. Our senior team captain Ben Harrison is holding down our defense and not allowing most to score if it comes his way. Our junior starting QB Luke Leblanc held down our offensive side, throwing more and reading the defense great in the preseason. Kameron Casnave has a lot of weight on his shoulders after breaking the touchdown record last year. He is expected to be a big part of our offensive game and to keep our ground game going. According to Nola News in an interview with two of our players Kameron Casnave and Ben Harrison, we are expected to go deep in the playoff run this year. Our team is young and are going to have to step up, they added in the article. Our head coach, James Willis has prepared for this season and has done everything in his power to put our best twenty-two on the field. Students and families of NCS it’s time to get up and get loud for our Northlake Christian Wolverines. Come out to our Wolverine field on Friday nights and cheer us on our journey to state.
